Grades 9-12
Overview:

When identifying root words students often find it difficult to distinguish between roots and non-roots. For example, students who learn that pan- (in panic/pandemonimum) might also think that panda includes the root pan. This exercise is designed to help students use meaning as a way to distinguish among different roots and non-roots. It is based on two different Greek roots (pan), and thus also expands their vocabulary knowledge as well.
