Slang and Language Change


This lesson allows students to participate in discussion of their own language and to discover how their own slang terms are examples of language change in action. Can lead to discussion of the social effectiveness of slang for defining personal identity, etc. Also can lead to discussion of prescriptive versus descriptive grammar in a general way.
